Rapid Application
Development - eBASEŽ uses
reusable component technology to provide many of the functions common to all
applications. Development and testing costs are reduced because the programming
effort is greatly reduced. Many application functions can be added with little
or no coding. Extensive parameter driven eBASEŽ
components let you define new functionality in minutes rather than days. |
Multiple Delivery Channels
- Many customers require delivery of application functionality to
many platforms. eBASEŽ supports
access to mainframe data through multiple delivery channels including: ˇ Web
server in internet/intranet mode ˇ Intelligent workstation in client/server
mode ˇ Program to program from any client or peer source ˇ Traditional 3270
terminals

Ease of Maintenance -
Maintaining an eBASEŽ application is
quick and easy. Whether you are adding new functionality or making a simple
page change, the parameter driven components of eBASEŽ
make the job fast and easy. To add a new field to your web page, requires only
three or four simple steps. No mainframe programming is needed. Extensive
testing to make sure that data can be retrieved, edited and updated is not
necessary since the reusable and already tested eBASEŽ
routines are automatically invoked.
|
Reusable Component
Technology - eBASEŽ uses
a sophisticated system of reusable components and cataloged parameters to
dramatically reduce the time required to deliver data to customers, business
partners and employees. This component-based technology provides a reusable
approach to separating the presentation layer from the processing logic for
legacy applications and new applications. |
Extensibility -
No application development platform can provide all the functionality needed in
a complex application without some traditional programming. eBASEŽ
provides numerous exit points where you can add your own application specific
code to work in conjunction with the eBASEŽ
components.

Integrated Data Dictionary
The interactive data dictionary describes the data tables and defines
the relationships between the tables.
|
 |
Interactive Connectors Interactive Connectors define the data elements
transmitted to and from the mainframe in a business transaction.
|
 |
Security Profiles Profiles support personalization of data
presentation and secure the pages themselves.
|
 |
Dynamic Reporting The Dynamic Reporting component extracts
data from the mainframe creating files for web display, local print or export
to other PC formats such as CSV, DB4 and DIF. Reports and calculations are
defined and submitted from the web browser. Report recipients are automatically
notified by email when the report is available.

Searches Searches provide online, real time access to the
application data using alternate keys defined and maintained by
eBASEŽ.
|
 |
Screen and Menu Generator In the 3270 environment,
eBASEŽ provides a complete screen and menu generator
for defining the user interface.
|
 |
Object oriented API for delivery to multiple channels eBASEŽ
provides an object oriented API for client programmers to access mainframe
resources without regard for the underlying communications method.

 |
Application Interface Manager AIM transforms data from a
stored format into the format required by a receiving application using catalog
rules for exchanging data. It centralizes and standardizes the rules for
interface processing.

 |
Exception Management The Exception Management System (EMS)
provides efficient and timely online control of rejects and exception items for
any application.

Scheduled Debits/Credits The Scheduled Debits/Credits
System (SDC) provides a simple, straightforward way to automate payments.
