GENERALIZED  BILLING  SYSTEM

Computrol’s Generalized Billing System (GBS) is a services and events driven billing system. GBS accumulates transaction event data, bills customers at the scheduled date and collects amounts due electronically. GBS is used to bill and collect amounts due from member banks of one of the world’s largest credit card companies.

Worldwide competition increases the need for organizations to control billing costs and increase fee income. Altering prices and responding to new products quickly are critical to improving your customer base and profitability.

GBS can easily be web-enabled or connected to customer networks, PC’s, call centers or other data delivery systems using Computrol’s eBASE® tools.

How GBS Operates

The GBS design establishes a relationship between a customer, a service and billing events.  For each customer, GBS stores information about services and events, including:

Billing cycle dates

Collection methods

Rates

Quantities

Amounts

You can assess or adjust fees online based upon the quantity or dollar amount. The system can warehouse transactions for a specified period of time.

GBS accepts billable event transactions from groups of network feeder systems. You can set up recurring events to automatically assess fees on a periodic basis.

GBS also bills a service automatically. The system selects the service for billing based on the frequency. Multiple rate types can be used such as:

	Standard
	Fixed tiers
	Progressive tiers
	Customer specific minimums
	Special minimums

As a service cycles, GBS applies the rate based on accumulated transactions. The transactions may be consolidated for several customers to take advantage of volume pricing. The system creates appropriate billing history entries for customer inquiry and customer reconciliation activities. It also generates collection records for EFT and general ledger.
